Amazon is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated Transportation Specialist to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) in India. The NOC serves as the central nerve system for Transportation Execution within Amazon’s vast global supply chain. It supports operations across multiple geographies—including North America, India, and Europe (EU)—ensuring the timely and seamless movement of goods from vendors to Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs), and subsequently to the last-mile delivery carriers.
This role plays a mission-critical function in Amazon’s supply chain ecosystem. The NOC not only handles real-time resolution of logistics disruptions but also focuses on identifying operational inefficiencies, automating manual workflows, and proactively improving systems and processes. The Transportation Specialist is expected to show strong ownership, technical acumen, and a relentless focus on delivering excellent customer outcomes.
🎯 Key Responsibilities :-
Serve as the first point of contact for transportation exceptions and real-time shipment issues across geographies.
Manage communication across stakeholders including internal teams such as Customer Service, Last Mile, Middle Mile, Fulfillment Centers, HR, and Transport Program Management.
Monitor key metrics and logistics dashboards to detect anomalies and proactively resolve them to minimize customer impact.
Utilize historical data and escalation trends to conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
Lead and contribute to process improvement projects focused on scaling operations, reducing defects, and enhancing network efficiency.
Own and create new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation in response to business needs.
Partner with technical and operational teams to improve data visibility tools and reporting mechanisms for internal and external stakeholders.
Manage multiple competing priorities while demonstrating excellent organizational and project management skills.
Present complex ideas and insights clearly and effectively in meetings, documents, or visual dashboards.
✅ Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or operations roles is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, think critically, and solve problems independently.
• Prior experience working in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.
