Key Responsibilities: How You’ll Make an Impact
As an R&D Mechanical Designer at Hitachi Energy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the mechanical design backbone of innovative projects across the transformer business units. Here's what your day-to-day impact will look like:
CAD Design Excellence:
Create detailed and parameterized CAD models for components and assemblies using advanced 3D modeling tools. (Experience with CREO is a plus!)
Innovative Product Development:
Collaborate closely with engineers to develop new products and optimize existing ones with focus on cost, performance, and sustainability.
Simulation Preparation:
Generate defeatured geometries to enable efficient simulation workflows in collaboration with simulation analysts.
Design Validation:
Run simulations using in-house developed tools to ensure reliability, performance, and feasibility of your designs.
Prototype Testing & Iteration:
Support the prototyping and testing phase, ensuring your designs align with practical application needs.
Manufacturing Documentation:
Prepare technical drawings, design documents, and specifications to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
R&D to Engineering Transition:
Facilitate technology transfer by creating design guidelines, standards, and training materials for seamless integration with engineering teams.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Provide technical assistance and support to engineering, product management, marketing, and sales departments.

Your Background – What We’re Looking For

Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
Technical Skills:

• Solid knowledge of mechanical structures, materials science, and design methodologies.
• Understanding of parametric modeling and simulation-prep workflows.
Professional Experience:
• Prior work experience or internship in mechanical design (entry-level experience acceptable with strong academic project exposure).
