Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer at IBM, you will:
• Design & Develop Solutions: Lead the development and design of robust data engineering solutions using the latest data platforms and cloud technologies.
• Evaluate and Innovate: Constantly evaluate existing systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement innovative features that add business value.
• Agile Development: Work within an agile framework, contributing to iterative builds, testing, and continuous integration.
• Adopt Latest Trends: Stay updated on technology trends and apply them to build scalable, creative solutions for enterprise-level clients.
• Support Teams: Offer technical guidance and hands-on support to your project teams, resolving complex issues related to data modeling, transformation, and architecture.
🎓 Educational Requirements
• Required: Bachelor's Degree (in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related fields)
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in a technical field
🛠️ Required Technical and Professional Expertise
To succeed in this role, you must have experience or knowledge in:
• Apache Spark (PySpark): Deep understanding of Spark architecture and APIs for distributed computing and large-scale data processing.
• Big Data Ecosystem: Familiarity with tools such as Hadoop, HDFS, and Kafka.
• ETL & Data Modeling: Strong grasp of data pipelines, data warehousing, and schema design.
• Python Programming: Advanced skills in Python, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• SQL Proficiency: Ability to write optimized SQL queries for processing massive datasets.
• Cloud Technologies: Experience with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including using cloud storage systems.
Preferred Skills and Experience
📈 Monitoring & Architecture Strategy: Ability to define and implement standards and strategies for end-to-end system monitoring.
🔐 Security & Detection Tools: Familiarity with enterprise-level detection and prevention tools is a plus.
🤝 Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven ability to partner with development, architecture, QA, and infrastructure teams to implement scalable solutions.
