Roles and Responsibilities
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
• Building and setting up test automation and CI/CD pipeline frameworks within OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments.
• Designing and automating infrastructure solutions that enable IBM Cloud products.
• Administering automated CI/CD systems and tools for development and testing teams.
• Ensuring compliance and maintaining the security integrity of environments.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, managers, and program managers to develop monitoring and alerting solutions for mission-critical systems.
• Enhancing and developing capabilities across compute, storage, and network infrastructure services.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 1–2 years of experience in cloud-based software engineering using Go Lang, Python, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Proficient with Linux-based OS: CoreOS, RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, including Shell scripting and package managers (e.g., yum, apt-get).
• Ability to debug services using tools like systemctl and journalctl.
• Practical experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes for deploying distributed applications.
• In-depth knowledge of OpenShift or similar Kubernetes-based orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, Razee, GitHub, etc.
• Exposure to Agile software development practices.
Preferred Skills and Experience
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and practical experience in network development.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative agile team environment.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills to work across global teams.
