Airbus is looking for a motivated and talented User Experience Design Intern to join our newly established User Centric Design team in Bangalore, India. This 6-month full-time internship offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse digital solutions vjranging from internal systems used to build aircraft to digital products embedded within Airbus aircraft themselves.
You’ll become a part of a global team driving transformation through design thinking and user-centric approaches. Key Responsibilities / Tasks & Accountabilities:
As a UX Design Intern at Airbus, you will:
Conduct user research to understand user needs, motivations, goals, and pain points.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
Create user personas, user journeys, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to translate ideas into impactful solutions.
Develop information architecture and navigation models to ensure a smooth, intuitive user experience.
Perform usability testing, gather user feedback, and iterate on designs to refine user interfaces.
Analyze user behavior metrics and interaction data to make informed design improvements.
Work closely with visual designers to ensure consistency in branding and UI guidelines.
Act as a user advocate, presenting and defending your design choices with solid research and usability data.
Prepare and lead creative design workshops that drive innovation.
Work on responsive design proposals suitable for multiple platforms and devices.
Support the team’s commitment to integrity, quality, and compliance throughout the design and development lifecycle.
🧠 Who You Are – Qualification & Experience Required:
🎓 Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (ongoing or recently completed) in:
Interaction Design
User Interface (UI) Design
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
Or a related field
📁 Portfolio Requirement:
A compelling design portfolio showcasing your:
UX/UI design work
Research approach
Problem-solving methodology
Prototypes or product samples
Skills You’ll Bring:
Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methodology.
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as:
Figma
Adobe XD
Sketch
Experience in user research techniques like:
Interviews
Surveys
Field studies
Usability testing
Knowledge of design architecture principles, including:
User flows
Task analysis
Navigation models
Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they influence UX decisions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and design sprints is a plus.
High levels of curiosity, creativity, and initiative.
