This role is best suited for candidates with 2+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development, particularly in Java, Angular, Spring Boot, Microservices, and DevOps tools like Docker and Jenkins.
Primary Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer at Optum, you’ll be expected to:
• Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, with a primary focus on coding, testing, and debugging.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to best industry practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new product features.
• Optimize existing software applications to enhance performance and scalability.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders for requirements, updates, and issue resolution.
• Work in Agile environments, preferably under Scrum or LeSS methodologies.
• Contribute to security initiatives, including identifying and fixing system vulnerabilities.
• Be actively involved in various review meetings, such as design reviews, test case walkthroughs, and production readiness discussions.
• Support QA and UAT teams by analyzing and resolving defects and participating in deployment activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
• Education
B.Tech or MCA degree
• Technical Experience
Minimum 2+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer or in a related technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience as a Full Stack Engineer, including:
•Front-end: Angular
• Back-end: Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• Database: MySQL
• APIs: RESTful services
• Solid understanding and experience in Microservices Architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools including:
Docker
Kubernetes / NoMad
Jenkins
Git
Splunk
• Proven experience supporting QA, UAT, and production phases by resolving defects, applying patches, and deploying new versions.
Soft Skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Quick learner with a desire to explore new technologies and frameworks.
• Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
